Installation

Download and install the package from here.

Enter Your Credentials

After installation select AFD Postcode Evolution from the application dropdown in the top right corner. There are 2 tabs; Home and AFD System Configuration, select the AFD tab.

Input the details that you have been supplied with into the matching fields.

  • PCE URL – The URL used to access the PCE proxy
  • User ID
  • Serial No.
  • Password

Press “Test” to make sure the credentials are correct.

Press “Save” when you have entered the information (all fields are required).

  • Use Location – check to display the Latitude and Longitude fields on the Postcode Lookup page

Form Configurations – Postcode Lookup

The AFD PCE integration is available on the following default SalesForce Standard Pages:

  • Accounts
  • Leads
  • Contacts
  • Person Accounts

To include the integration into these forms they must be added to the forms layout and custom buttons

The following example is for “Accounts” but the process is the same for “Leads” and “Contacts”:

  1. Go to Setup -> Build -> Customize -> Accounts -> Buttons, Links, and Actions.
  2. Select New Button or Link.
  3. Set the Label and Name ie. Postcode Lookup.
  4. Set the Display Type as ‘Detail Page Button’.
  5. Behaviour as ‘Display in existing window with sidebar’.
  6. Set Content Source as ‘Visual Force Page’.
  7. Set Content as either
    • ‘AccountPostcodeBilling’ or ‘…Shipping’ or ‘…ShippingandBilling’.
    • ‘contactpostcodeOther’ or ‘…Mailing’ or ‘…MailingandOther’.
    • ‘leadpostcodeAddress’.
  8. Save the Button.
  9. Go to Setup -> Build -> Customize -> Accounts -> Page Layouts.
  10. Select edit on the default “Account Layout”.
  11. In the left hand list box of the Account Layout control panel select “Buttons”.
  12. You should now see in the main panel “Postcode Lookup”, drag and drop onto the Custom Buttons section of the page layout – alongside the Standard Buttons section.
  13. Scroll to the top of the account layout page and select the save button.
  • If Person Accounts are activated the Lookup Button used on the Person Account Page must use the PersonAccount Postcode VF page.
  • If you have an existing AFD Visualforce page set within the detail layout please remove.
  • Please remove any existing AFD html within Home Page Components – Message and Alerts.

Using AFD’s Integration

On page layouts where selecting the postcode button will display the address with the postcode lookup option within a new page.

  • Enter the postcode, or any valid AFD Postcode Evolution lookup, in the Postal Code field
  • To run the lookup press the Lookup button
  • A list of matching addresses will popup. Select the address and press Select
  • Form will be populated with the selected address and configured result fields
  • If the returned address has an associated Name or Organisation it will be displayed below the address with a check box option to set when saving.
  • Click the Save button to save the address changes.

Form Configurations – Email Validation

The AFD PCE integration is available on the following default SalesForce forms:

  • Leads
  • Contacts

To include the integration into these forms they must be added to the forms layout and custom buttons

  1. Go to Setup -> Build -> Customize -> Contacts -> Buttons, Links, and Actions.
  2. Select New Button or Link.
  3. Set the Label and Name ie. Email Validation.
  4. Set the Display Type as ‘Detail Page Button’.
  5. Behaviour as ‘Display in existing window with sidebar’.
  6. Set Content Source as ‘Visual Force Page’.
  7. Set Content as either
    • ‘contactEmailValidation’.
    • ‘leadEmailValidation’.
  8. Save the Button.
  9. Go to Setup -> Build -> Customize -> Leads -> Page Layouts.
  10. Select edit on the default “Lead Layout”.
  11. In the left hand list box of the Lead Layout control panel select “Buttons”.
  12. You should now see in the main panel “Email Validation”, drag and drop onto the Custom Buttons section of the page layout – alongside the Standard Buttons section.
  13. Scroll to the top of the lead layout page and select the save button.

Using AFD’s Email Validation

On page layouts selecting the email validation button will display the email address with the result of the validation within a new page.

  • The email address can be amended and the validation performed again.
  • Press the Validate button.
  • Click the Save button to save the email address changes.
