Dynamics 365 BC Integration

NATIVE Business Central App

You can use a native Business Central App for rapid, accurate address, email and phone validation at the heart of your Dynamics 365 Business Central platform. The integration will make it easier than ever to ensure clean, reliable data for smooth operations and confident decision-making.

Needing to replace GetAddress.io in Business Central?

There are currently two realistic approaches for organisations needing address lookup inside Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central following the closure of the getaddress.io integration.

Option 1: API translation approach, which could be redundant at any point

We can do this, but don’t recommend it

We can provide a replacement “translator” layer that redirects the existing getaddress.io integration to a different address lookup API. While this can provide a short-term workaround, if Microsoft removes or alters the getaddress.io integration components in a future update, this approach will stop working without warning. In effect, it preserves a dependency on something that is no longer maintained.

Option 2: Native Business Central app

We (and D365 Implementors) recommend this

AFD provides a native Address Lookup App for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central that has already been deployed in BC environments and tested. The app sits fully within Business Central rather than relying on the legacy getaddress integration.

It allows users to search, and capture verified addresses using postcode or address validation directly within customer, supplier, and account records, using correctly licensed Royal Mail PAF data alongside Ordnance Survey addressing, New Builds, Flats data and additional business addressing records are also included. International address data is also included

This removes manual typing, improves address accuracy, and keeps customer and financial records consistent.

Imminent Release

The native app is in the final stages of Microsoft approval and will soon be available directly via AppSource. Email validation, phone validation and bank account validation are also planned for future releases.

Recommendation
AFD recommends moving to the native app approach. It removes reliance on the getaddress integration and provides a stable, supported long term solution for Business Central users and partners
